Meet the Newest Welcome Team Members

Welcome has come a long way since the announcement, back in January 2025, that we had been granted the first Non-bank Deposit Taker licence by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand – Te Pūtea Matua (RBNZ) in nearly a decade.

The Welcome team has grown over the past six months and we are delighted that Jen Latham has joined our team as a Business Development Manager, based in Auckland. Jen brings a wealth of experience in specialist lending and a track record of helping advisors access alternative mortgage solutions nationwide. Her passion for building strong adviser partnerships and delivering outstanding service makes her a fantastic addition to the Welcome team.

Miles Standeaven recently joined our team as Head of Credit. Miles is a seasoned financial services leader with more than 18 years’ corporate and non-bank lending experience, gained in Australia and New Zealand. Miles brings a wealth of experience in credit risk, commercial lending and portfolio management.

Working alongside Miles is Wendy Babe Senior Loans Analyst and Matt Wallis Loan Support Officer, both with wide-ranging experience in the lending space.

With over 18 years’ experience in financial services, Rachel Terry is our Risk and Compliance Officer. Rachel specialises in turning regulatory requirements into practical, workable solutions that strengthen governance and build trust, partnering with stakeholders and regulators to deliver results that last.

Sandy Gernhoefer joined the team back in April as a Relationship Manager. With over 30 years’ financial services experience, Sandy had built a strong reputation as a trusted and client-focused Relationship Manager, building relationships and helping investors grow in confidence on their investment journey. With a notable tenure at a funds management company and three decades in banking, Sandy has an in-depth knowledge of investment, commercial analysis, and financial administration.
