Welcome is delighted to support the next generation of Hawke’s Bay entrepreneurs as they set up and run a real business under the regional Young Enterprise Scheme.
The first event, Shark Tank, was full of excited chatter as more than 450 students from 19 schools across the region pitched their business ideas for a product or service to mentors – all designed to help them test, refine, and strengthen their concepts.
Welcome CEO Anton Douglas greeted the students, sharing the story behind launching Welcome and offering practical advice on what it takes to launch a start-up and grow a business. Members of the Welcome team joined other mentors for the fast-paced speed pitches helping students shape their ideas into real business opportunities.
Events like Spark Tank are a great way to encourage young people to think creatively, build confidence, and explore what’s possible through business. Welcome is thrilled to support initiatives that help inspire the next wave of entrepreneurs in our region.
